"Julie respects sellers. She is a rare mix of empathetic and tough as nails."
I began my career in real estate in 2005. I combined my previous work experience in project management, marketing, technology and international business along with my life experience of growing up in a restaurant to bring my clients creative, detailed, personable and effective real estate representation.
In 2014 I experienced divorce first-hand and it was then that I realized that couples, often going through a stressful and disorienting experience, were required to make a joint decision on the one person who would be representing what is likely their largest asset and the greatest source of tension in the divorce (aside from custody). I immediately knew I could bring my experience to these clients and make one part of the divorce process less stressful by leveraging my unique skills and professional experience.
In 2016 I joined the local chapter of the National Association of Divorce Professionals and continued my education regarding how divorce impacts families, finances and emotions. I remained a member of the NADP for several years and was a guest instructor on several occasions.
In 2018 I obtained my Connecticut Real Estate Brokers license, further my commitment to continuing my knowledge of the real estate industry.
In 2020 I took a brief course in mediation and pursued knowledge regarding techniques for communicating effectively in high stress negotiations.
Also at this time I became committed to becoming more knowledgeable about domestic violence and safety strategies that can be employed during the high tension moments such as packing up and leaving the marital home.
In 2021 I was awarded the designation of Sterling Society Member by Coldwell Banker for sales ranking in the top 18% worldwide.
In 2022 I completed additional coursework with the National Association of Realtors in the area of Short Sales and Foreclosures.
To furthering my commitment to providing "undraggable" representation to my clients (meaning I NEVER choose a side, have a "favorite", or get dragged into the finer points of the divorce proceedings) I have enrolled in Quinnipiac Law School's Mediation Certification program and will complete that course work in the Spring of 2023.
While many of my clients are not getting divorced they enjoy the benefit from my continued passion for learning in all things real estate, negotiation and mediations If you are in need of knowledgeable and committed real estate representation in Connecticut during your divorce I invite you and your co-owner to reach out to me so we can create a plan of sale that will work for you, satisfy any applicable court orders and hopefully alleviate costly back-and-forth dialogues with attorneys regarding the sale of the marital home or other jointly-owned properties.
(On a more personal note, I enjoy hiking, photography, writing, public speaking, all things mushrooms, moss and lichen and my antique home. I love my 3 kids who are each uniquely creative, smart and funny, my long-term partner who is the owner of Fryborg AKA the best burger and fries in Connecticut and my dog, Coffee, who is the sweetest pit bull mix rescue you will ever meet.)
